Leaner and Greener: Delivering Effective Estate Management

Telereal Trillium contributes to Westminster Sustainable Business Forum’s report ‘Leaner and Greener: Delivering Effective Estate Management’.

Telereal Trillium is pleased to present you with a copy of Westminster Sustainable Business Forum's report “Leaner and Greener: Delivering Effective Estate Management”.

The report, chaired by Matthew Hancock MP, details how councils can achieve efficiency savings of up to £7 billion per year through better management of its properties.

The report makes 15 recommendations including:

  • Rationalising its estate by 20-30 per cent and introducing flexibility
  • Increasing focus on sustainability, with potential savings of up to £200 per square metre per year
  • Working with and partnering other local governments and service delivery providers includingthe private sector to maximise financial investment opportunities and deliver an effective property strategy

The launch of "Leaner and Greener: Delivering Effective Estate Management‟ further endorses research conducted by specialist economics consultancy SQW in June 2010. The report entitled „Property Efficiency Solutions‟, commissioned by Telereal Trillium, found that government could save an extra £4.3 billion within five years, through a radical new approach to property.
