Telereal Trillium has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards, for its sustainable procurement programme - supporting the Third Sector and supplier diversity.
These awards, one of the oldest and most prestigious of its kind, celebrate excellence in corporate community involvement programmes across London and recognise companies and public bodies that have a long-term sustainable commitment to a wide-ranging programme of community engagement and have gone above and beyond their core work to significantly impact the regeneration of local communities.
Telereal Trillium has been shortlisted in the ‘Enterprise and Employment Award’ category for its corporate programme focused on supporting the Third Sector and supplier diversity by increasing its involvement in the SME and, in particular, the social enterprise sector – aiding businesses that trade to tackle social problems, improve communities, people's life chances, or the environment.
The initiative focuses on sourcing SME and social enterprise suppliers and products that strike a responsible balance between social, economic and environmental factors; helping social enterprises access and interact with large corporates; and engaging with, and building the sector on a broader scale by encouraging other suppliers and contractors to take their own action, contributing to maximising profits for the sector.
The impact delivered to date includes an education for life for eight disadvantaged children, giving 90 young people work experience, and 1,400 fruit trees planted in Africa as a direct result of the initiative. It further supports economic growth for local social enterprises and SMEs.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 30 September.
