Telereal Trillium inspires students to kick-start a successful future

15 December 2017

On Thursday, 7 December 2017 Telereal Trillium hosted students from across the UK for a behind-the-scenes visit of what it’s like to work in an office.

The event, part of A Capital Experience, was organised in partnership with Career Ready, a national charity linking employers with schools and colleges to help young people kick-start successful futures.

The visit was organised by Susan Cain, Head of Corporate Responsibility and during the afternoon the students were given an introduction to the company, masterclasses in networking and social media, and the opportunity to practice their elevator pitch and networking with volunteers from across the company.

In total, nearly 1,500 students from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland came to London to mark the start of their Career Ready programme. Telereal Trillium was one of more than 70 of the Capital’s employers to support the event and engage young people about the world of work.

Career Ready aims to prepare young people for the world of work by delivering a programme of mentoring, masterclasses, workplace visits and internships in schools and colleges across the UK.

Telereal Trillium has been working with Career Ready for seven years providing mentors, paid internships, guru lectures and workplace visits.

Anne Spackman, CEO of Career Ready said: “As outlined in the Government’s new careers strategy, visiting workplaces such as Telereal Trillium marks a big step in a young person’s journey to becoming career ready. For many, this will have been their first visit to London, and to walk into the glass and marble towers of the capital and realise that they are welcome and that they could work there, is an inspirational moment. We hope that inspiration will stay with them throughout the programme and motivate them to aim higher in their future careers.”

Susan Cain, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Telereal Trillium said: “We are delighted and honoured to continue working with Career Ready and inspiring the next generation of workers. Our staff really enjoy hosting the schools visit each year - getting to meet the students and sharing their knowledge.”
