Case study: A Capital Experience – Boosting employability skills
Every year Telereal Trillium hosts an office visit and masterclass for sixth form students as part of a ‘Capital Experience’. The event is organised in partnership with Career Ready, a national charity linking employers with schools and colleges to open up the world of work to young people.
On 8 December 2016, nine Telereal Trillium volunteers helped host 21 students aged 16-18, from the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, and St Brendan’s Sixth Form College, Bristol.
Career Ready aims to make young people work ready by delivering a programme of mentoring, masterclasses, workplace visits, and internships in schools and colleges across the UK. Telereal Trillium has been working with the charity for over six years as part of its ‘Helping People into the Workplace’ community programme.
Betty Benjamin, Business Lecturer and Career Ready Coordinator at College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London said: “The students were happy and really appreciated the opportunity Telereal Trillium gave them to have a first-hand experience of the corporate environment. As a college, we are really grateful for the event and what Telereal Trillium is doing as a whole to help young people.”
