We aim to make a positive difference within the communities in which we operate and support the causes close to the hearts of our people. We are proud that many of our employees play an active role in supporting and delivering this aim, through volunteering, charitable donations and fundraising. We also work with our service partners and customers to combine our resources in order to make a greater impact.
Helping people into the workplace
Unemployment impacts people from every walk of life and causes great strain on individuals, families and communities. Helping people into the workplace is a key theme underpinning our community activities and we support a number of organisations dedicated to improving employment opportunities including Broadway, Tomorrow’s People, Career Academies, LandAid and Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Helping our people help others
We recognise that giving is about catering to the individual and allowing each employee to engage in causes they care about in the communities around them.
To encourage our employees to give, Telereal Trillium run a Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme, which gives all employees the opportunity to donate a fixed sum every month to a charity of their choice, with money taken from their salary before tax is applied. Telereal Trillium then matches the donation up to a maximum of £2,500 per person, per year. Recognising our GAYE scheme, we have been awarded Gold Payroll Giving Quality Mark awards for seven consecutive years.
Our charity matching scheme extends beyond the GAYE scheme, with all staff donations made from a range of fundraising initiatives matched by the company. We also encourage all our people to volunteer for at least one day a year during work time and for any volunteering undertaken outside of work hours, we match this with additional annual leave.
In 2011, Telereal Trillium made a commitment to the Give More campaign, which encourages people to share their passion for the causes they care about by making a public pledge to give more time, money or energy. As an early corporate supporter, we committed to spreading the Give More message and encouraging our people to give more in a way that works for them. To encourage our own people to get involved, we raised our charity matching threshold.
