Plans submitted to transform old King’s Lynn post office

16 September 2013

Telereal Trillium has submitted plans for the extensive renovation of the former King’s Lynn post office to provide new residential and retail space.

The plans, submitted to West Norfolk Council, will see the existing post office façade retained and a comprehensive internal refurbishment to provide 27 residential units and 15,000 square feet of retail space.

Telereal Trillium development manager, Jonny Pitts said: “From the outset we recognised a desire from the community to retain elements of the existing building, which occupies a central site in the town centre. By changing the way it is used, yet being sympathetic to its history, we are hoping this building can once again make a meaningful contribution to the local community.”

The site was vacated by the post office in 2007 and has remained empty since.

A decision from West Norfolk Council is expected in late November.
