Telereal Trillium has submitted a change of use application for the former Jobcentre Plus site on 3 Gellatly Street, Dundee.
The plans, submitted to Dundee City Council, will see the former Job Centre converted from Class 4 Business, to Class 3 Food and Drink, with the retention of business use on the second floor. The traditional property is comprised of an original three storey, grade B listed sandstone building with a concrete single storey extension to the side.
The 0.32 acre site, including 13,862 sq ft of floor area, occupies a location in the city area which has been transformed as part of the Dundee Waterfront Development and includes a substantial commercial and leisure development.
Telereal Trillium, development and disposals director Mark Kelly said: “Given the property’s location within the Waterfront Development and close proximity to other leisure and commercial operators, the change of use will allow the vacant building to be brought back into use and align with the objectives of the Waterfront Development. We are committed to once again making a meaningful contribution to the local area.”
The property was vacated by the Department for Works and Pensions in October 2012.
A decision from Dundee City Council is expected in April 2016.
