Planning permission secured for redevelopment of Chelmsford DWP site

Planning permission secured for redevelopment of Chelmsford DWP site

11 July 2013

Telereal Trillium has secured planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Department for Work and Pensions offices on Beeches Road, Chelmsford.

The proposed residential development will include 46 houses, including an affordable housing element. Plans also incorporate a new dedicated access to the adult education centre at the rear of the site.

A Telereal Trillium spokesperson said: “We are pleased with the outcome of the recent planning committee meeting and look forward to progressing the scheme which will help meet the housing needs of the local area”.

The four-acre site has remained vacant since it was formally vacated by the Department for Work and Pensions in December 2012.

Savills will market the site, with benefit of planning permission, over the coming months.

Rapleys were the planning advisors for the scheme.
